I’m a firm believer that all RPG freelancers should receive a fair payment for their services. The rates here are a guideline – I may charge more for “rush” jobs with tight deadlines. Any work I do includes any necessary rewrites or edits. Once the mutually-agreed final version is submitted, I will submit an invoice (remittance due within 30 days). I prefer payment in UK Pounds Sterling (£).

To give some idea of the hourly rates, proof-reading and indexing a 128-page book takes 10-12 hours work.
Rates
- Editing: $0.02/word. I’ll require a style guide and a manuscript in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format.
- Writing: $0.08/word. Requires a clear writing brief and word or page count.
- Proof-reading: $30/hour. I’ll require a style guide and a manuscript. If sending a PDF please include a printer-friendly option (layers or otherwise). The above costs includes an index and resolution of any p.XX’s. It doesn’t include sanity checking of statistic (stat) blocks etc.
