Hi. I’m Bill Heron. This website is a successor to themandragora.com, my RPG “hobby” site as such. Many of the pages from themandragora.com can be found within the Archives area of this website along with some of the free downloads I created for various games.
For the last few years I’ve been working as a freelance writer, editor, and proofreader for a number of role-playing games (RPGs). Much of my work is freelance although I’m open to long-term contract, repeat, or permanent work. I was ENnie-nominated in the Best Writing category for my writing in 2024.
I offer a number of services: not only writing but proofreading and editing as well. I offer an indexing service along with my proofreading.
Why does your book need an index? Something you’ll constantly hear RPG consumers complain about is a lack of a definitive index in many products, or worse: the infamous “p.XX” reference. As part of the proofing process I can find these after layout (or before) and create an index for you. A rule of thumb is to assume a 3-column index takes 1-side of a page per 100 pages of text. Rather than a text parser output, you’ll get an index tailored to your readership.
If you’ve got a question, please ask.
